Karine P. Burney

Karine P. Burney has over 14 years of experience, exclusively practicing family law.  Prior to forming Burney & Reese, Ms. Burney was a partner with Kessler & Solomiany in Atlanta since 2013.  Ms. Burney is a Member at Large of the Executive Committee of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia.  She is the President of the Cobb County Bar Association Family Law Section and the current Family Law Institute Fundraising Chair.  Ms. Burney likewise participates as a Program Chair and Barrister in the Charles Longstreet Weltner Family Law Inn of Court.  She has been recognized as a Georgia Super Lawyers, Rising Star since 2013.  Since 2018, Ms. Burney has also been designated as a Special Assistant District Attorney to prosecute nuisance actions in a continued effort to combat sex trafficking.

Through traditional litigation and negotiations, Ms.Burney handles a variety of cases, including complex divorces, child custody disputes, spousal support claims, prenuptial agreements, modification cases, contempt actions, and related family law matters.  She is also trained in collaborative law.
